We will discuss the following topics:
Understanding your recruiter
How do recruiters work in different companies and industries?
What is their role in your application process?
What are the “Do’s” and “Don’ts” when talking to recruiters?
How to read a job ad
We will go through a current job ad and you will learn what you need to pay attention to when reading it to make sure you refer to all relevant information in your application.
How to write a compelling CV
We will go through sample CVs and discuss what information to include, how to structure a CV and how to make it concise.
Your professional narrative: The Cover Letter
You will learn more about how to structure your cover letter to make sure it tells your story and has a “red thread”.
Applying online & social media
You will learn what to look out for when applying online, via email and what role social media plays in the application process.
In the second part of this workshop we will focus on the dynamics of conducting a great interview. We will focus on how to effectively prepare and research for an interview and how to handle difficult and frequently asked interview questions. We will discuss the strategies and the “Do’s” and “Don’ts for phone, in-person, and video interviews.
Veronika Gächter is a recruiting and HR professional. In the past she has worked in the areas of talent management, recruiting and HR at Google Switzerland GmbH, ThyssenKrupp Presta AG and at universities in Vienna and Liechtenstein.
